Classes

Whether you are brand new or just looking to level up, we’ve got a class for you. Learn the ropes (literally) in our free Belay Classes, learn the basic skills and tips we recommend for all beginners from our Climbing 101, or progress to lead climbing and lead belaying in our Lead Climbing 101 classes.

  • Want to unlock the world of top rope climbing? Our belay class will teach you everything you need to know to safely belay your climbing partner. This class is free with your day pass!

    • What you’ll learn: Knot tying and belaying using Pilot or GriGri devices

    • Who can join: Ages 15+

    • When: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5–8 PM, and Saturdays, 12–6 PM

    • How long: About 1 hour

    • Class size: Max 4 people, first-come, first-serve

  • We recommend our Climbing 101 class for all beginner climbers. This is a 1.5-2 hour course that will give you the skills and knowledge help you progress as a climber. We will go over basic climbing technique, tips and tricks, and everything you need to know to get you moving like a pro (or at least like someone who looks like a pro)

    • $40 per participant (FREE for members)

    • Day pass and all rental gear included

    • Particpants must be at minimum 12 years of age

    When is the class offered?

    • Mondays, Wednesdays at  6 pm - 8 pm and Saturdays at 3 pm - 5 pm

  • Ready to take your climbing to the next level? If you’ve nailed your top-rope skills, it might be time to jump into the world of lead climbing, also known as sport climbing. It’s a whole new adventure that will challenge both your mind and body, and open up more of our climbing wall for you to explore.

    Because lead climbing is more involved for both the climber and the belayer, you’ll need to be confident in your climbing and belaying before starting.

    Our Intro to Lead Climbing class is designed to give you the skills you need to lead climb and lead belay indoors. You’ll get hands-on experience and expert coaching in action-packed sessions that only Elevation Rock Gym can deliver.

    Class details:

    • Two sessions, 2 hours each

    • Includes a Petzl GriGri for every participant

    • Use of lead rope included

    • Cost:

      • Non-Members: $129/person for group (2+ people), $149 for private

      • Members: $119/person for group (2+ people), $139 for private

    • Requirements:

      • Must be top-rope certified at Elevation Rock Gym

      • Must be able to climb 5.10 on top-rope

      • Lead climbing certification is not included or guaranteed
